What pH should wine be?

Monitoring pH is key to producing quality wine and should be tested throughout the wine-making process.

Grape juice and wine will typically have a pH between 2.90 and 4.00 pH.  When measuring pH be sure to bracket your measurement range with the calibration buffers. It is recommended to calibrate a pH meter/electrode that measures wine to 3.00 pH and 7.00 pH.
