Can I use an EC probe to measure salinity in my food samples?
This comes down to the fact that EC can tell you the concentration of ions in your sample, but that the probe cannot differentiate.
Food is a very complex sample matrix, with many things that can contribute to the total number of ions in the sample. We recommend conducting a salt titration to measure the salinity of your food samples.
