How long is the Quick Cal solution good for once it is open?
The Quick Cal solution is typically viable for 1 month once a bottle is open.
While a bottle may technically be okay to use for up to a month once open, there are several factors that can affect the life-time of an open bottle.
- Once a bottle is open, air exposure will cause the solution to evaporate. This evaporation will affect the concentration of the conductivity standard.
- The 6.86 pH calibration standard can be susceptible to mold.
- A mostly full bottle of standard will change less than a mostly empty bottle of standard.
Due to these factors, we recommend single-use calibration packets to prevent contamination or evaporation. This will save you from guessing as to whether or not your standard is still good.
