How long is the Quick Cal solution good for once it is open?

While a bottle may technically be okay to use for up to a month once open, there are several factors that can affect the life-time of an open bottle.

1. Once a bottle is open, air exposure will cause the solution to evaporate. This evaporation will affect the concentration of the conductivity standard.
2. The 6.86 pH calibration standard can be susceptible to mold.
3. A mostly full bottle of standard will change less than a mostly empty bottle of standard.

Due to these factors, we recommend single-use calibration packets to prevent contamination or evaporation. This will save you from guessing as to whether or not your standard is still good.
